    They came at you with all kinds of offers and sweet deals. They encouraged you to splurge money on things you could survive without and then the purveyors of plastic hit you with one mammoth bill after another, further inflated because of unfair interest rates and penalties for late payments.

    Who has not dreamed of hitting back at those evil credit card companies? You wonder where are these people now that I am in debt to them? Why will they not listen to my legitimate reasons on why I am having trouble paying them back?

    Credit reporting agencies are clearinghouses for information on individual consumers’ loan repayment histories. The three largest credit reporting agencies in the United States are TransUnion, Equifax and Experian (formerly TRW).

    How to Check Your Credit Rating? 

    There is a global myth that each person has a “credit score” assigned to them that banks and lenders use to see how good you’ve been with credit. This is false! There is three main Credit reference agencies that keep track of your credit-defaults and missed loan repayments, but no score is assigned. Each lender is independent and will use one of the three agencies to check your status and then assign a rating based on what they’ve found, and their risk assessment policy.
